    New Makerspace: As the new Multi-purpose Room is under construction, programs previously housed in the MPR will be moved to another part of campus. The New Makerspace Classroom will be relocated to the current Crocker Lecture Hall. Architects from WRNS Studio are developing the drawings for this new creative learning lab in conjunction with the HCSD Facilities Team and Crocker Staff. Construction will take place in Summer 2026.

    New Culinary Arts Classroom: As a new Multi-purpose Room will be built, programs previously housed in the MPR will be moved to another part of campus. The New Culinary Arts Classroom will be located near the current art classroom on the first floor of the Crocker main building where the current staff room is located. Architects from WRNS Studio are developing the drawings for this dynamic new learning space. Architects from WRNS Studio developed the drawings for this dynamic new learning space. Phase I of construction was completed in August 2025. Phase II of the project is now underway with a completion date of September 2026.

    Fire Alarm Upgrade: Our Fire Alarm System Project is currently in the design initiation phase. The project’s start date will align with the completion of the new Multipurpose building.

    New Staff Workroom: The current Crocker Office will become the new Staff Workroom. Construction of this new room will begin in the spring of 2026 and continue throughout the year. The current Crocker Office will remain in the same place until the new Administrative Office is completed. 

    New Multipurpose Room, New Outdoor Quad Area, New Administration Building: Quattrocchi Kwok Architects (QKA) finalized the design of the new facilities with continued input from both the site and district level facilities teams. QKA submitted plans to the Division of the State Architect (DSA) and we are in the process of making requested and required adjustments. Construction is expected to begin in the Summer of 2026. In addition to these major changes to the campus, Crocker Middle School will also have a new Culinary Arts classroom and a new Makerspace classroom.

    Crocker Field Upgrade: The Facilities and Construction team continues its work on the Crocker Field project. The Board of Trustees approved the contract with Verde Design for the architectural services on this project. In October 2023, a topographic and underground survey was completed to help determine the placement of the field's design elements. Also, a geotechnical hazards report was completed in November 2023. Project Design will move forward in conjunction with the new Multi-purpose Room, Administrative Building and school frontage projects.

    New Staff Workroom: A portion of the current Crocker Office is now being used as the Staff Workroom. The current Crocker Office will remain in the same place until the new Administrative Office is completed.

    New Water Main: A large Town of Hillsborough water main that ran under the existing Crocker MPR was rerouted in preparation for the summer 2026 ground breaking of the new Crocker MPR and administration building.

    Roofing and HVAC: The district completed work with architects and engineers, constructing new roofs on the main building and gymnasium and new HVAC units on the main building ensuring comfortable learning environments year-round. Architectural drawings were submitted to DSA in December 2024. Construction took place and was completed in summer 2025.

    Security Cameras and Safety Programs: HCSD partnered directly with Verkada Security Systems and has installed security cameras on all campuses and at the District Office. Additionally, ActVNet First Responder Access was also completed, improving security and rapid response during emergencies.

    Marquee Board: A new marquee was installed on the Crocker campus, and will remain in the current location - on the Blacktop, until the new Multi-purpose Room, Administrative Building and school frontage projects have been completed.

    Classroom Technology: During the summer of 2023, SmartBoards were deployed into each classroom on the Crocker campus. All teachers received training on using the new SmartBoards and implementation is taking place across all classrooms.

    UPS Upgrades: The District replaced its Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems with network technology to provide critical power backup for each site to keep the network functioning and allow it to safely be powered down despite power failures.
