The California Safe School for All Plan

  • In response to the Governor's Safe Schools for All Plan, Hillsborough City School District has provided all required and additional supporting documentation for application for supplemental funds under this new plan. Having been open to in-person instruction since October 12, 2020, HCSD has shown that rigorous health and safety precautions can well mitigate the risk of COVID-19 in our schools and we continue to provide our in-person program to all grades Preschool-8th while maintaining low rates of infection.

Hillsborough City School District began the year in distance learning and has transitioned to in person learning.  In addition to in person learning, all parents have the opportunity to opt into a distance learning program.  The following outline HCSD’s measured sequential approach for returning to in person learning:

    • September 21, 2020 - Classes for vulnerable students as allowed under the CDPH Cohorting Guidance returned to in person learning.

    • K-5 Return to School Timeline - On October 12th, HCSD reopened for grades K-5 to attend every day under an approved waiver from San Mateo County Health and CDPH.  The initial return to school plan implemented a six week measured sequential approach to in person learning:
