Welcome to West Hillsborough School! We are a tightly knit and supportive community of students, school staff, parents, and community members. We strive to work in conjunction with one another to nurture the academic and social-emotional learning of each student. West teachers are exceptionally talented and take great pride in the art and craft of teaching all students. West teachers also take the pursuit of lifelong learning to heart and are always working to outgrow themselves. How fortunate our students are to benefit from such a dedicated group of educators!

Our students and teachers benefit immensely from the incredible support of the Hillsborough Community. The West Parent Group works tirelessly to support the entire West community by hosting various events across the year, providing support to teachers by securing volunteers to help in the classroom, and by connecting parents to each other through monthly Parent Group meetings. Additionally, the Hillsborough Schools Foundation (HSF) provides resources to the school district, which allows each school to provide a wide array of programs for students.

West School strives to provide each learner with a well-balanced educational experience. In addition to a strong academic curriculum, all students at West receive instruction in vocal music, physical education, and library media for 60 minutes each week. Students in K - 5th grades also receive instruction in West School’s Innovation Lab. Students in 4th and 5th grade receive instruction in Spanish and have the option to receive instruction in instrumental music, as well. Our work this year will focus on helping students work toward the district’s mission and Essential Outcomes, which include developing people of good character, innovators and problem solvers, effective communicators, global citizens, lifelong learners, and effective users of information, media, and technology. Our HSCD Forward goals focused around technology, world language and world culture, meeting the specific needs of students, professional growth, and HCSD culture will help us ensure that we empower our students become contributing members in and globally aware citizens.
