School Impact Fee (Developer Fee)
Developer Fees
The Hillsborough City School District is authorized by Education Code section 17620 to levy developer fees for residential development projects within district boundaries.
Fee Structure:
For new construction or additions that are over 500 square feet, a fee of $2.45 per square foot will be collected.
Calculating Your Payment:
To calculate your payment, simply multiply the total square footage of your project by $2.45.
Example: A 650 sq ft project would be calculated as: 650 sq ft × $2.45 = $1,592.50.
Payment Options:
Online: Streamline your developer (school impact) fee payment! Our new Facilitron online portal makes registering projects and paying remotely simple and efficient. Access it here: Facilitron . Please note that a platform fee, charge by Facilitron , applies to online payments.
In Person: Visit our District Office located at 300 El Cerrito Avenue in Hillsborough. Appointments are preferred by contacting 650-342-5193 or email ap@hcsdk8.org to schedule.
By Mail: Send the following to HCSD, attention Business Office:
- Documentation including your name, email address and phone number for correspondence
- Your Developer Impact Fee Compliance form (issued by the Building Department)
- Your payment (check or money order)
Receipt:
Once we receive your completed forms and payment, a receipt will be emailed to you.
